I now ask for what I want.
One of the things I learned from Monic is to prioritize myself. I was working long hours and loved my job. As we were short on staff, I took on extra tasks. This helped me a lot to develop myself further, but I also thought I should be rewarded for that. And I believe that this should be initiated by management. However, in the coaching with Monic, it became clear to me that I had to ask for what I wanted. And that if I would get a ‘no’ I had to make sure to get back on my horse. This means staying in the game with arguments and a track record.

As a global engineering company, we are still facing difficulties in attracting and retaining women. And if we are able to employ them, we don’t see them raising their hands when opportunities for professional growth or new roles are offered. Since two years, Mira Vasic of InTouch has been supporting us in creating awareness about cultural and individual hindrances and overcoming conscious and unconscious biases. We now have a number of female managers who commented that they never would have applied without this knowledge.
